You Can Stop
Hey, you can stop.
That might mean nothing to you or it might mean everything, but you can stop.
There is time to sit still, time to breathe.
You can't accomplish your life goals today, and if you can you need bigger life goals.
It is not a failure or a waste of time to just exist for a moment in time, to let your body relax in between frantic sprints. Hell, maybe we should all stop frantically sprinting anyway.
Jesus doesn't call you to pack something in every second of the day. Jesus doesn't call you to overcommit. Jesus doesn't call you to rush from thing to thing, and try and squeeze in some reading or returning emails in the small gaps between things.
Jesus calls you to be faithful, to show up, and then to rest. He does it in the gospels, taking time away from His ministry.
So today: stop.
If it's just for a second or a minute, stop. Sit in your car for a few minutes with the radio off when you get somewhere. Take the long route when you're walking somewhere. In fact, walk at a normal pace instead of power walking in the interest of getting there early. If you do get there early, just have a seat instead of scrolling through your social media. Let your brain exhale.
Relax.
Breathe.
Stop.
